The Local Community
San Pablo is a small Bay Area town located in West Contra Costa County, approximately 20 miles from the heart of San Francisco. Much of San Pablo was built after World War ll when returning service men and women came to settle in the Bay Area.
Though conveniently close to Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco, the price per square foot of San Pablo homes is as much as one-third lower compared to those more metropolitan areas. In addition to affordability, residents enjoy scenic views, convenient access to bayside beaches, public parks with hiking trails and picnic spots galore, and wonderful local shops and restaurants. If you are looking for a scenic, peaceful town away from the crowded Bay Area cities, this is a remarkable place to call home.
From 2188 Del Monte Drive in San Pablo's Bayview neighborhood, it's only a half a mile roll or stroll to Pinole Shores Park & the San Francisco Bay Trail! Only slightly further afield, Pointe Pinole Regional Shoreline is a 2,300+ acre bayside park located in nearby Richmond, California. The park features scenic bay views and plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors. Horseback riding and bike riding are incredibly common at Pointe Pinole Regional Shoreline, but the true draw for the park is its fishing pier. Fishing at the pier does not require a license, and a shuttle bus provides convenient transportation. After a fun day of fishing and exploring this incredible shoreline, residents love to take in the incredible sunsets before heading back home.
The San Pablo/Pinole/El Sobrante/Hercules area is also where you will find some incredible local restaurants, including:
Xinia’s Bakery: From Salvadorian cuisine to fresh-baked pastries and homemade sandwiches, this local bakery is nothing short of spectacular. Stop by anytime you’re craving a tasty piece of tres leches cake, or a fresh Pupusa.
Pear Street Bistro in Pinole's historic downtown is known for its New American fare and creative cocktails. Though the exterior feels like the Old West, the interior ambiance is true Northern California style.
Leila by the Bay is a welcoming spot just across the street from the bayfront with unobsttructed water views. Their take on Cal/Med cuisine is based on fresh ingredients and nearly every dish is made from scratch. The combination of Happy Hour and sunset views is simply irresistible!
